  2. Visual Arts is important to me because of:

Sense Perception / Logic - I'm a visual learner so I appreciate art a lot; I enjoy looking at artwork, admiring it and uncovering the meaning behind the artwork.

Sense Perception - I feel that while art is communicative and expressive, it can reveal a personal aspect, in which I find interesting because a subject is specifically viewed from the artist, therefore giving you a particular perspective.

Imagination / Emotion - Visual Arts is almost like an escape for me. Personally, I find it therapeutic as I get to express and explore creatively and imaginatively; it gives a balance to my academic subjects.

  4. For me, visual arts is really important because it enables a lot of freedom of expression. It is not like any other class I am taking, and I like that. Visual arts encourages creativity more than other DP classes, which is really important when learning no matter the subject.
Art is also important because it can make you feel so many different things and bring up memories, even if those emotions weren't the intention of the artist. It is really amazing how a shared piece can mean so many different things to different people. It can bring diverse people together.
I find visual arts really intriguing because there are so many different means in which artists can express emotions and ideas in art, and I am constantly learning those different ways.

  5. Hi all thanks to those who have posted a comment, I think your answer are really good and provide an interesting perspective and using TOK I think helps to channel some of the reasons why you as young artists are interested and passionate about the subject.

I would really like for some of you to get on board and start more conversation...

  6. Visual Arts is important to me because I feel as if it is an effective way to express myself. I am able to show my opinions on topics to the audience and allow them to interpret it however they want. I feel like art is like a piece of writing, but on a canvas. It can be persuasive and it can also be beautiful. It is deeper than a piece of writing though as you have more freedom. It does not have to use words, or even be organised, it just has to have character and meaning. I hope to achieve this level of art with all of my pieces throughout the year.

  7. Visual Arts makes me happy. The subject is a fun experimental and creative outlet which explores my mind. I think we tend to let our ideas stay in our heads and all we do is think about them. This class lets me learn to do something with these thoughts and develop them to create something I like. It encourages me to take risks and by doing so I sometimes make mistakes. This is actually one of my favorite parts because I learn to embrace faults.

In a way, visual arts is its own language. No matter what you speak it lets people from different cultures and backgrounds communicate and interact. Its a way to convey our ideas, emotions, and memories. It helps me free my mind and crawl up and dig for something I enjoy doing and thats why it's so important.

  8. Visual Arts is important to me because it acts as a creative outlet. Visual Arts allows room for interpretation, imagination and creativity.

This subject, I feel has no limitations as you can create anything you like. It is also a different but an effective way of communicating thoughts. I can express my opinions, it can be a way of sharing my feelings about an issue or it can be a way for me to share a bit about myself. When people look at an artwork, different things are communicated to different individuals and it can speak out to all kinds of people.

Visual Arts is also a subject that helps me think more in-depth about different topics. In a way it helps me move away from looking at something from one perspective to looking at things in many perspectives. This allows me to be more open-minded, creative and I like this about art.

  9. Visual Arts is one of the subjects that I look forward to every time. Since I love to draw, paint, and do other artistic things, I really appreciate a class that allows me to be creative and let my imagination run wild. Also as a visual learner, I really enjoy looking at other people's artwork and interpreting them in multiple ways, since they tend to not have words or have a fixed meaning to them.

In terms of creating artwork personally, I find it to be a fun yet challenging process, as it allows me to become really creative in expressing myself, but it also makes me take risks and use techniques or mediums that I have never used before or have found difficulty in using them in the past.

I feel like visual arts is a subject where there are endless possibilities in terms of creativity and expressing yourself. Most importantly, it can communicate and speak out to everybody of all ethnicities as it is not bound to a specific language, which is something that words cannot do.
