To what extent does our sense perception affect our way of interpreting art?

  1. Traditionally we would only see the art that was in front of us (whether that be a painting, sculpture, etc...). However in recent times, it seems as if artists are now pushing the boundaries as a lot of modern art is related to hearing, smelling and touching. This is exploring more areas of art that we did not know were possible before the past century. Sight is still a large part, but other senses are now incorporated into art pieces to bring a whole new dimension to the art scene. In the future we could also go beyond our senses and continue to tackle new challenges and break down barriers that restrict us.
